• Our proprietary red blend, Baby Blue, is our most popular wine. It is a distinctive blend of the five Bordeaux varietals — Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec — plus a touch of Syrah that delivers velvety tannins, fine aromatics, and length.
• Baby Blue is approachable and delicious on release and a perfect complement to a wide range of foods such as grilled salmon, pork tenderloin, or pasta.
• Tasting notes: blackberry, blueberry, black currant and anise wrapped within a velvety texture. Beautifully balanced and delicious!

• Bordeaux white grapes of Sauvignon Blanc.  However, we did not stop there.  We added a small, amount of Viognier and felt that it would give Baby Blue Blanc an aromatic “pop!”
• The result is a wine that is both fresh and rich, a rare combination that appeals to all the parts of the palate.  The finish is lingering, allowing Baby Blue Blanc to be enjoyed on its own year-round. However, its magic is when paired with food, from standard American fare to something much more exotic.

Produced from multiple Estate blocks including the oldest vines planted in 1987

• Crafted from our Northern California Estate vines, wines that are both rich and expressive.
• The Blue Rock Estate vineyard is located in Alexander Valley west of Geyserville and adjacent to Silver Oak & Seghesio Family Vineyards.  The wine is very aromatic with notes of mint, blueberry and black fruits. Deep flavors of black cherry are balanced with well-endowed, but fine grained tannins. There is excellent balance and a persistent finish. It is very approachable and ready for either early consumption or long term cellaring.
• The Blue Rock style is one of elegance and restraint rather than heavy and highly extracted. We strive for a wine that has a solid structure and lots of flavor, yet, without the heaviness that one associates with many modern-day California Cabernets.

A hint of pleasing exotic aroma that keeps one coming back for more.

Our Chardonnay has tremendous verve making it an excellent companion at the table. Nimble enough to pair with ceviche, grilled white fish and other seafoods, it has enough body to accompany richer dishes finished with cream sauces or wild mushrooms.

• Having grown up on French Chardonnay from Cote Chalonaise, Chablis, and Cote du Beaune I was turned off by the oily, oaky character of most California Chardonnay.  At Blue Rock we make balanced and table-friendly wines such as those from France.

• Having grown up on Burgundy from the Cote du Beaune and Cote du Nuits, I was turned off by the thick texture and simple strawberry typical of Russian River Pinot Noir.  At Blue Rock, we source from the best vineyards to craft balanced and table-friendly wines such as those from France.

This is an extraordinary California Merlot.

As one would expect it has silky tannins. However, it has the structure of cabernet and a distinctive dark coco note that mingles with the black cherry flavors. It is delicious now and pairs well with rich meats and red meat poultry such as squab or duck breast.

We planted our Syrah in 1991 on an extreme hillside and to the Chateau Beaucastel clone. It is always

delicious but achieves depth and greatness only in select vintages. The 2012 was singled out from the

beginning because it was dark and brooding but still layered and complex. It is full of dark fruit and

would pair well with a gamey meat such as lamb.

• Best Barrels is our limited production, flagship wine. True to the name, it just what it sounds like: Best Barrels is made only when we find something that is both unique and better than anything else. The first Best Barrels was discovered by accident. Each year, prior to bottling, we taste every barrel in order to rank them. In 2003 we stumbled upon one barrel that was so outstanding that we decided to bottle all of 24 cases. It was the 2003 Estate Malbec from vines that were planted in 1987.
• Best Barrels Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted from the oldest vines planted on the Blue Rock Estate in 1987. These chosen Cabernet barrels exhibited deep, rich flavors and aromas, and were loaded with special complexity from the beginning. One could argue that the Best Barrels Cabernet is accessible at present due to its lush, silky tannins. However, it longs for a few years of bottle age that will allow for the greatness to fully emerge.
• It is a stunner. The fruit is enormous, packing explosive blackberry, black cherry, blueberry and dark chocolate flavors, while oak brings an elaborate smoky sweetness. Feels dramatic and important, and should age well for ten years, at least.
