Our Signature Wines

2014

BABY BLUE

Tasting Notes:

Our goal as winemakers is to make a unique wine that has soul, balance,  lots of flavor and yet without the heaviness that one often finds in California Cabernet.  The addition of Merlot brings sweetness and silky tannins, the Cabernet Franc adds a complex aromatic while lifting the texture and Petit Verdot and Syrah round out the palate with warm black fruit.

Food Pairings:

Baby Blue is blended to be remarkably versatile. Unlike Cabernet Sauvignon which requires rich meat or cheese to offset the tannins, Baby Blue can be enjoyed with grilled fish, white meats and poultry, or simply as a cocktail by itself any time of the year.

Release Date: April 1, 2016

Appellation: Sonoma County

Varietal Composition: 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot, 8% Syrah, 8% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec

Harvested: Mid September to Mid October 2014

Average Brix at harvest: 24.5

Cooperage: French Oak

Alcohol: 14.2%

2013

ESTATE CABERNET

The oldest blocks of the Blue Rock Vineyard Estate planted in 1987.

Tasting Notes:

The wine is very aromatic with notes of mint, blueberry and black fruits.  Deep flavors of black cherry are balanced with well endowed but fine-grained tannins.  There is excellent balance and a persistent finish.  It is very approachable and ready for either early consumption or long term cellaring.

Food Pairings:

This is a balanced but rich wine and deserves a steak or lamb to complement the velvety tannins.

Release Date: April 1, 2015

Appellation: Alexander Valley

Varietal Composition: 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot, 4% Malbec

Harvested: Between October 2 and 10 2013

Average Brix at harvest: 24.5
